IN TRANSIT
a shelter departed and the trace it left behind
IN TRANSIT, 2021 76.7 x 56.3 x 56.3 in. greenhouse with white vinyl text and epoxy, suspended by monofilament above peat moss, bricks, and Scottish moss, illuminated at night by solar-powered spotlights
IN TRANSIT represents transitional seasons of life, when we are suspended between one place and another. There are many phases in our lifetimes when we must redefine what we call home; we are no longer rooted in one place. This piece highlights these transient moments in time as well as the traces we leave behind. The mossy footprints where the house once sat grounded call attention to the way we imprint every space we leave behind.
